Philoxenia
The Greek word is translated to “friend to stranger” or “hospitality” and it is my philosophy for life.
Growing up in a Greek-American home, I was engulfed in a great food culture from birth. My love affair with food and hospitality started at a young age. I grew up with a deep love for Rachel Ray, Cake Boss, & my Easy Bake Oven. I asked my mom for a cookbook and would set the table for dinner. I would prepare everything specifically to my liking. Seeing my family enjoy it, brought me such joy. My Grandma was and still is the best cook I know. I was privileged to be surrounded by talented and driven women in the kitchen and also in life.
Fast forward and now I am a professional baker. I attended CASA (Chef Apprentice School of the Arts) and worked under Chef Carlos Garza at Carnivale. Chef Garza showed me that true passion for what you do matters, and how to use your food as your voice. I then went onto Publican Quality Breads to work under Greg Wade. Greg is a James Beard award winning baker. He is the creator of the amazing PQB brand. Most importantly, he is an all around great person to learn from. He taught me all things bakery life. I was promoted to bread lead and I now help run the production for the bakery.
I knew a long time ago that I had a dream of having my own business. That’s all it was though, a dream. After working in the industry and seeing the ins and outs of things, and after working high volume production in the bakery for years- I realized that I still want to run my own business. I just needed the confidence and skill set to do so.
Creating a spread for your special day is truly my passion. I will put in the most effort to make sure it fills all your needs. Like I said before, Philoxenia.
